The MUSIL – Museum of Industry and Labour of Brescia is pleased to announce the third edition of the cycle “Musil at MUSIL”, which this year presents the study day “Parallel Writings. Robert Musil and His Colleagues”.
The initiative will take place on Saturday, September 12, 2026, starting from 09:30 AM, at the MUSIL – Iron Museum of San Bartolomeo.
The study day aims to develop the non-casual homonymy of the museum with the great Austrian author, exploring a central aspect of his work: the relationships Robert Musil had with the great writers and intellectuals of his time. The scientific coordination is curated by Prof. Micaela Latini from the University of Ferrara.
The day's program includes the following presentations:
- Introduction: René Capovin (MUSIL Brescia) with Musil at MUSIL. A Brief History
- Roberta Ascarelli (University of Siena): Is it possible to exorcise ghosts? About Musil and Weininger
- Ulisse Dogà (University of Trieste): The Unrealizable: Musil, Guillaume, and the Grammar of the Possible
- Ludovica Boi (University of Verona): The Author as a Scene for His “Others”. Robert Musil and Franz Blei between Intertextuality and Self-Reflection
- Samir Thabet: Ethics and Aesthetics: Schönberg, Musil, Bernhard
- Isabella Ferron (University of Modena and Reggio Emilia): Robert Musil and Anton Kuh between Cognitive Crisis and Linguistic Performativity: Short Forms of Modernity
- Katia Botta (University of Parma): Dialogues on the Mountain
- Conclusions: Micaela Latini (University of Ferrara)
The conference is open to the public and was made possible thanks to the contribution granted by the DIAC - Directorate General of Libraries and Cultural Institutes (Ministry of Culture).
